Roxana Lucero, RYT ---Six years ago at a local gym I took a beginner yoga class and fell in love with the practice. Finally I found a practice that fulfilled me and challenged me each and every time, physically and mentally. I concentrated in astanga but soon learned to slow down, savor the strength in hatha and experienced the beauty of alignment in Iyengar. My love for the practice of yoga led me to YTTI, I took the teacher training in 2006, graduated with an amazing group of classmates at the 200 hour level and it completely transformed me. I am so blessed to have been taught by two great teachers with infinite knowledge, Marianne and Mokshapriya, who continue to guide me with loving hands. I am continuing my education right alongside many of my classmates and I will complete the 500 hours certification this year. I will pursue the certification of power yoga with Beryl Bender Birch soon thereafter. With my teacher's recommendation I became part of the Long Island Yoga Association board of directors this year. My beloved teacher Marianne told us at the beginning of our training "yoga is my life, my life is yoga" teaching this great gift of yoga each and every time brings so much joy to my heart and I am honored to share it with you. From my first visit to the Northport Yoga Center I felt I was home and I'm so very happy and proud to be part of it.
